Health hazards:
The active ingredient is designed to cause bleeding after repeated
ingestion.
Section 4 - FIRST AID MEASURES
IF IN EYES:
Immediately flush with plenty of water for at least 15 minutes. If
redness, itching or a burning sensation develops, have eyes examined
and
treated by medical personnel.
IF ON SKIN:
Wash material off the skin with plenty of soap and water. If redness,
itching or a burning sensation develops, get medical attention.
IF SWALLOWED:
Provided the patient is conscious, give 1 or 2 glasses of water to
drink.
Immediately contact Zeneca's Emergency Information Network at
1-800-F-A-S-T-M-E-D (327-8633). Induce vomiting by sticking finger
down throat. Repeat until vomitus is clear. Refer victim to medical
personnel.
IF INHALED:
Remove victim to fresh air. If cough or other respiratory symptoms
develop, consult medical personnel.
MEDICAL ADVICE:
This product may reduce the clotting ability of the blood and cause
hemorrhaging. If poisoning occurs, intramuscular and oral
administration
of vitamin K1 are indicated, as in poisoning from overdose of
bishydroxycoumarin. For human cases, vitamin K1 is antidotal at 10-20
mg
(not mg/kg). For animals, vitamin K1 is antidotal at 2-5 mg. Repeated
doses may need to be given up to two weeks (based on monitoring of
prothrombin times). In severe cases, blood transfusions may be
necessary.

exposure standard of 0.002 mg/m3 for Brodifacoum (active ingredient)

During manufacturing: Safety glasses with side shields.
BODY PROTECTION:
During manufacturing: Impervious gloves and apron. PVC has been shown to
be impervious to brodifacoum. Remove contaminated clothing and wash before
rewearing. Gloves are recommended for handling the finished product.
RESPIRATORY PROTECTION:
During manufacturing: When handling large quantities of end-use product,
use MSHA-NIOSH approved respirator for pesticides.
Other protective equipment:
Eyewash station and safety shower in work area.

During manufacturing: Store in a cool dry area away from products with
strong odors. Keep in an area suitable for pesticide storage. Prevent

General information
This description of acute toxicological properties is based on laboratory
results and experience with this material.
Other effects of overexposure:
Effects are those of anticoagulant overdosage, i.e., reduced blood
clotting ability with spontaneous bleeding in various body organs.
Body accumulation is likely to result from repeated exposures to
brodifacoum since its half-life is estimated to be 120 days. Individuals
with blood clotting disorders may be more susceptible to overexposure
effects.

Disposal Method:
Untreated effluent should not be discharged where it will drain into

RCRA, 40CFR 261. Do not contaminate waterways by cleaning of equipment or by
Disposal of wastes.
